Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Kicks Off 20th Anniversary Magical Party Countdown with Disney Friends’ Invitation Tour in Multiple Cities Across the Region

Download DetailsHONG KONG, June 23, 2025 — The countdown is on! The Most Magical Party of All celebrating Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s (HKDL) 20th Anniversary is set to begin in less than a week! Starting June 28, 2025, the resort will kick off a year-long celebration — filled with immersive spectaculars and surprises from day to night.
To add to the excitement, Disney friends acting as party hosts took part in a special tour in Hong Kong, mainland China and across Asia, delivering invitations to The Most Magical Party of All by lighting up cities with festive installations, surprise appearances and magical moments. The invitation period is officially underway, inviting guests from near and far to join in the fun at HKDL’s 20th Anniversary party!

The first stop of the magical party invitation lands at Ngong Ping 360 on Lantau Island! Beginning June 21, Ngong Ping 360 launched 11 themed cable cars, each inspired by beloved Disney friends and their stories, as a teaser for everyone to get to know more about the 11 floats in HKDL’s largest-ever parade “Friendtastic!”. Ngong Ping Village also displays 20th anniversary-themed installations featuring Mickey and Friends, as well as Duffy and Friends figurines, inviting guests to receive a warm welcome to HKDL’s Most Magical Party of All.
Starting June 23, the HKDL giant magical party invitation will warmly welcome every arriving visitor at the Arrival Hall of Hong Kong International Airport! A 3-meter-tall Mickey installation, dressed in his brand-new 20th Anniversary party outfit, will make a surprise appearance, ready to snap photos with guests. Be sure to visit the interactive installation and discover your magic number on Mickey’s invitation list!
From June 26, trains across major MTR lines, including the Airport Express, Tsuen Wan Line, East Rail Line, and Disneyland Resort Line will be transformed into 20th anniversary themed trains, carrying guests towards the party. At Hong Kong Station, one of the city’s major transit hubs, passengers will first experience the party atmosphere along the escalator corridors. Before boarding the themed Disneyland Resort Line train and upon arriving at Sunny Bay Station, keep your ears open as you might hear Mickey and friends from the park pop up with special surprises, making the journey even more magical!
Starting Jun 27, the party spirit will sweep through the bustling streets of Causeway Bay! Island Beverley Mall will become the perfect backdrop for a picture-perfect invitation! Lucky guests might even enjoy a special encounter with Disney friends in person, so be sure to strike a pose and take a photo with them.
From late July, the excitement extends to the ever-popular Kai Tak Sports Park will join to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of HKDL! Guests will be able to interact with Mickey’s animation through augmented reality (AR) filters. Starting early August, the Kai Tak Stadium will even light up with dazzling projections—sure to become a new city highlight. Mickey and Friends will also make a surprise visit in August to this stunning new Hong Kong landmark.

The tour started in Taipei on May 7 through an exciting collaboration with Taipei Metro. Mickey and his friends brought the magical party vibes with them, turning Zhongshan Metro Station into a 20th anniversary-themed festive zone and transforming the Taipei Metro train to invite guests to hop aboard and have a taste of what The Most Magical Party of All would be.
The celebration will arrive in the Philippines later this month, where Mickey himself will greet guests on the red carpet at the Disney Store in SM Mall of Asia and personally delivering party invitations to fans.
In Mainland China, a 20th anniversary-themed exhibition kicked off at Wuhan’s iconic landmark MixC Wuchang on May 31. Inspired by the Castle of Magical Dreams and the brand-new “Friendtastic!” parade, the exhibition showcases an immersive display featuring Duffy and Friends’ figurines dressed in their new party outfits. Guests can also RSVP to The Most Magical Party of All at the Mickey-themed interactive counter.
Another 20th anniversary-themed exhibition will arrive in Teemmall Guangzhou on July 5, where guests can experience the stunning Castle of Magical Dreams installation, take photos with Disney friends’ figurines, and soak in the party atmosphere before they come to join the 20th Anniversary celebration. The magic will continue in Shenzhen on July 19, where image of Disney friends will illuminate the night sky with a special drone and lighting spectacle above Talent Park, offering an enchanting invitation for guests across the Greater Bay Area to join the celebration.
