HONG KONG, December 1, 2025 — Amid the devastation caused by the fires in Tai Po, Disney offers its deepest sympathy to the families and communities affected, along with sincere gratitude to the firefighters and community organizations that saved lives and continue to provide critical support.

Working closely with local agencies and non-profit organizations, Disney is committing more than HK$10 million in cash and in-kind donations to provide immediate assistance and ongoing support for those affected by the Tai Po fires. Funding is earmarked for the following four registered non-profit organizations: Hong Kong Red Cross, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council, Po Leung Kuk and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups — for programs focusing on emergency relief, temporary accommodation, emotional support, and recovery for those affected, particularly children and families.

Tim Sypko, managing director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) said: “We are heartbroken by the tragic apartment fire that has deeply affected our Hong Kong community. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured, and everyone displaced by this devastating event.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is coordinating with local organizations to support relief and recovery efforts, including providing resources and assistance to those in need. We stand with our community in the wake of this tragedy and remain committed to supporting Hong Kong as it heals.”

Additional Supporting Actions

Other NGO Support: HKDL is in touch with other non-profit organizations to provide ad hoc support for Tai Po fire recovery efforts as needed.

Disney VoluntEARS Mobilization: Disney VoluntEARS will work closely with non-profit organizations to support the current and ongoing relief efforts.

Cast Support: In addition to community relief, HKDL is providing accommodation and ongoing support to a few cast members and their families that were directly impacted. Our Employee Assistance Program, which offers emotional wellbeing support and other services, remains available 24/7 to all cast members, and we arranged for a counsellor to be on property to provide in-person counselling services.

Rooted in Hong Kong for 20 years, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort remains committed to supporting our surrounding community during this recovery journey.
